Cathedral

• Established: 1837 (1827) 

The Scindia dynasty played an important role in the establishment of the Church. A Filose clan was an important factor. Col. John Baptist Filose built the Church, to be the burial place of the said clan. The mission originally belonged to the Archdiocese of Agra. In 1954 it was acceded to the diocese of Jhansi, and in 1999 it became the Cathedral parish of the diocese of Gwalior. The old presbytery was pulled down and the present one was put up in 1994. The first Bishop Joseph Kaithathara stayed here from 1999 to 2001. The Eucharistic adoration on daily base from 6:30 am to 7:30 am at Cathedral is a great blessing on the parishioners and the Diocese. The Renovation of the presbytery and pavers were done in front of the presbytery in the year 2020 and blessed by Bp. Joseph Thykkattil.
